41 Palestinians injured as occupation soldiers attack protesters at Gaza border

GAZA, Saturday, August 21, 2021 (WAFA) – At least 41 Palestinians were injured with gunfire today, two of them seriously, and many others sustained suffocation from teargas, as Israeli occupation forces attacked hundreds of protesters demonstrating on the 52nd anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Mosque arson near the Israeli perimeter fence surrounding the Gaza Strip. WAFA correspondent said Israeli soldiers, stationed along the border with Gaza, opened gunfire and teargas at the protesters, injuring 17 of them by gunfire and causing others to suffocate from teargas. On 21 August 1969, an extremist Australian, Dennis Michael Rohan, attempted to set fire to Al-Aqsa Mosque, destroying parts of Al-Qiblah Mosque, the main building inside the Al-Aqsa compound, including the 1,000-year-old priceless wood and ivory pulpit, placed there by the Muslim leader Salaheddin.
