Gas Company Condemns Detention Of Gas Trailers Taken To Mahweet
The Yemeni gas company “Sana’a and Safer” condemned the detention of the gas trailers taken to Mahweet by Ali Hussein Abdullah Awdha, Director of the Office of Industry and Commerce of Mahweet province in the Government of Mercenaries-Aden. The company explained in a statement that Awdha had seized the gas trailers taken to Mahweet province for more than 15 days and demanded the imposition of 40 rials on each gas cylinder of those trailers without any justification. The statement regarded the abusive actions of the so-called Awdha as covered by the so-called directives of the Governor of Mahweet Governorate in the Mercenaries-Aden Government as a blatant violation of declared armistice clauses. These actions are aimed at depriving citizens of access to gas and imposing amounts contrary to the law. The Yemeni Gas Company called on the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, and the Resident Representative of the United Nations and Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen, William David Gressley, to play their part in stopping those irresponsible actions that would exacerbate the suffering of the citizen in the circumstances of Yemen as a result of aggression and siege. The company appealed to free sons of Marib to intervene rapidly to release the gas trailers detained by mercenaries, and to neutralize the gas from the conflict, being a material associated with the life of the citizen. Demand the speedy release of trailers. - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

Hasaka, SANA- The Turkish occupation forces have targeted, with artillery shells, the villages of Hasaka western countryside, causing damages to electricity transmission networks and pushing Tal Tamir power plant out of service. Director-General of Hasaka Electricity Company, Eng. Anwar Okleh said in a statement to SANA reporter that Tal Tamir power plant 20/66 KV, went out of service due to the damage caused to the 66 KV voltage line feeding the plant, and that caused a blackout in the villages and residential areas in Hasaka western and northwestern countryside. Okleh referred to the difficulties of repair operations in the area, particularly in Umm al-Keif village, north of Tal Tamir, which was targeted today, as the village is located on the contact line with the areas of deployment of the Turkish occupation forces and their terrorist mercenaries. Israeli forces restrict Palestinians' access to their land in Bethlehem-area town
BETHLEHEM, Sunday, June 19, 2022 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces today banned Palestinian residents’ access to their land in the town of al-Khader to the south of Bethlehem, in the southern occupied West Bank, according to local activist Ahmad Salah. He told WAFA that Israeli forces left a notice in Khallet al-Ain area in the town of al-Khader, restricting Palestinians’ access to their land and forcing them to obtain special permits to allow their entry. The Israeli occupation has recently escalated its measures against Palestinians and their land in the town of al-Khader, through the seizure of land and the uprooting of trees, among others. Israeli settlers assault Palestinian shepherds in the Jordan Valley
JORDAN VALLEY, Monday, June 20, 2022 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers today assaulted Palestinian shepherds and forced them to leave the pastures in the northern Jordan Valley, according to a local activist. Aref Daraghmeh, a human rights defender, said that the Israeli settlers chased and attempted to attack the shepherds who were herding their sheep east of Khillet Makhoul and forced them to leave the pastures that are close to their tents. Settlers occasionally assault shepherds, release their dogs to attack the sheep, and then call the Israeli forces to detain the shepherds for long hours in an attempt to seize their lands and kick them out of them in favor of settlement expansion. For the 12th consecutive day, Israeli forces continue to seal entrance of Ramallah-district village
RAMALLAH, Monday, June 20, 2022 (WAFA) – For the 12th consecutive day, Israeli forces continue to seal the main entrance of Aboud village, northeast of Ramallah city, according to local sources. They said that the metal gate the army had set up at the entrance, where also a military watchtower stands, has been shut since June 9. As a result, residents of the half-Christian, half-Muslim village where many churches and monasteries, including the Orthodox Church dating back to the Byzantine era, are located, find themselves compelled to take long alternative routes, some rough, to reach their homes or workplaces outside the village mainly in nearby Ramallah city. Israel severely restricts Palestinian freedom of movement through a complex combination of approximately 100 fixed checkpoints, flying checkpoints, settler-only roads and various other physical obstructions. Closures besides to other measures, taken under the guise of security, are intended to entrench Israel’s 55-year-old military occupation of the West Bank and its settler-colonial project which it enforces with routine and frequently deadly violence against Palestinians. Israel orders stop on the construction of dwellings south of Hebron
HEBRON, Monday, June 20, 2022 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation authorities today ordered a stop on the construction of dwellings to the east of Yatta town, south of Hebron, according to a local activist. Coordinator of the Protection and Steadfastness Committees Fuad al-Amour said that Israeli forces stormed Ma‘in village, which is part of al-Karmel town, where they handed a villager an order to stop pitching up his tent under the pretext that the area is classified as archaeological. He added that the heavily-armed soldiers forced their way into Shi'b al Butum, one of the hamlets making up Masafer Yatta, and handed two brothers notices, ordering them to halt the construction of their family dwellings, each of which occupies an area of 60 square meters. The soldiers also handed a villager of al-Juwaya community a notice, ordering him to stop the construction of his dwelling and water well. Recently, Israel’s top court gave the army the green light to forcibly expel some 1,300 Palestinians living in twelve villages or hamlets making up the Masafer Yatta area, which relies heavily on animal husbandry as the main source of livelihood, marking one of the largest expulsions carried out by the State of Israel in recent decades. Located in Area C of the West Bank, under full Israeli administrative and military control, the area has been subjected to repeated Israeli violations by settlers and soldiers targeting their main source of living - livestock. It has been designated as a closed Israeli military zone for training since 1980s and accordingly referred to as Firing Zone 918. Israeli violations against the area include demolition of animal barns, homes and residential structures. Issuance of construction permits by Israel to local Palestinians in the area is non-existent. The “Civil Administration” is the name Israel gives to the body administering its military occupation of the West Bank. Soldiers in the oxymoronically named Civil Administration determine where Palestinians may live, where and when they may travel (including to other parts of the occupied territories like Gaza and East Jerusalem), whether they can build or expand homes on their own land, whether they own that land at all, whether an Israeli settler can takeover that land among others. Palestinian sustain wounds in settler attack west of Nablus
NABLUS, Monday, June 20, 2022 (WAFA) – A Palestinian today sustained wounds in a settler attack close to Deir Sharaf junction, west of Nablus city, according to a local activist. Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors colonial settlement activities in the northern West Bank, said that a group of settlers hurled stones at several Palestinians at the junction, wounding a young man, a resident of Sebastia town, in the head. Daghlas added the settlers stormed the area to remove Palestinian flags near the junction and attacked several residents, spewing pepper spray in their faces. Meanwhile, the Israeli army razed lands near a military roadblock the soldiers installed a few months earlier close to the al-Mas‘udiyya area near Burqa village, northwest of Nablus. In the meantime, the settlers hurled stones and empty bottles at Palestinian vehicles on the main Jenin-Nablus Road, near Silat ad-Dhahr town, south of Jenin, and near intermittently-staffed Shavei Shomron roadblock, west of Nablus, causing damage to at least a vehicle. Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities. Settlers‘ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, among others. There are over 700,000 Israeli settlers living in colonial settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. K.F. - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

Israeli settlers raze land in Bethlehem-district town
BETHLEHEM, Monday, June 20, 2022 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers today razed a plot of Palestinian land in Kisan village, east of Bethlehem, according to a local activist. Ahmad Ghazal said that a settler leveled a two-donum plot of land to make room for the expansion of his stone-cutting factory, located some 100 meters away from the houses of the village. Located 11 kilometers to the south of Bethlehem city, Kisan has a population of some 600 and occupies a total area of 133,330 dunams. Under the Oslo Accords, an agreement made 25 years ago that was supposed to last just five years towards a self-governing country alongside Israel, the Palestinian Authority was given limied control over a tiny pocket of land occupying 112 dunams, accounting for less than 1 percent of the village’s total area. Israel maintains control over 108,952, classified as Area C, accounting for 81.7 percent. The remaining part of 24,266 dunams, accounting for 18 percent, is classified as nature reserve. Israel has established three colonial settlements, namely Ma‘ale Amos and Mizpe Shalem besides to the settlement outpost of Ibei Hanahal on lands confiscated from the village. It has confiscated further land for the construction of settler-only by-pass road no. 901 and road no. 3698, which extend for 16.1 kilometers on the village land. Israel has constructed a section of the apartheid wall, confiscating and isolating some 87,344 dunams of fertile land, accounting for 65.5 percent of the village total area, for colonial settlement activities and pushing the villagers into a crowded enclave, a ghetto, surrounded by walls, settlements and military installations. Arrested at age 13, an Israeli parole committee designates Ahmad Manasra’s case as ‘terrorism’
RAMALLAH, Wednesday, June 22, 2022 (WAFA) – An Israeli parole committee today designated the case of Ahmad Manasra, who was arrested at age 13 after being involved in a stabbing attack against Israelis in Jerusalem, as “terrorism”, according to Manasra’s defense team. The defense team said that the Israeli Prison Service’s (IPS) Parole Committee decided to designate the case of Manasra, 20, who has developed serious mental health problems since his arrest as a child seven years ago due to severe interrogation methods and torture, as a case of “terrorism”. It slammed the decision as “legally and constitutionally flawed” and as a “gross violation of the legal and constitutional bases of the local and international legal system, particularly the legal system pertaining to minors.” On Sunday, Israel’s Ramleh Magistrate’s Court reviewed Manasra’s eligibility for early release under Israel’s Parole Law of 2001 but did not issue a decision despite the prisoner’s harsh health and psychological condition. Saleh Manasra, Ahmad’s father, said that his son did not attend the session on Sunday because of his poor condition, as he is being held in the Ramleh prison clinic, and every day he stays there, his condition worsens. Ahmed Manasra’s lawyer, Khaled al-Zabarqa, confirmed that during his visit to the prisoner Manasra on June 16 that there were traces of wounds along his left arm up to the wrist, as well as traces of wounds on his right arm. During this meeting, Ahmed did not communicate visually or verbally with Zabarqa, and he seemed to show signs of illness and general exhaustion. According to the advice of the psychological staff, who is following up on his case with the defense team, this situation is very worrying. They added that there is a serious and real danger to the health and safety of Manasra due to his mental health condition if he continues to remain in the occupation prisons. In light of this, the defense staff submitted an urgent request to the Israeli prison authority to release Manasra, immediately, due to the deterioration in his psychological and physical health condition. On June 20, Amnesty International called for the immediate release of Manasra. The international human rights organization pointed out that in 2015 Israeli authorities arrested Manasra, who was then 13 years old, and harshly interrogated and threatened him without a lawyer present. He has been in prison ever since, and in solitary confinement since early November 2021. Ahmad has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, is suffering from psychotic delusions, and is severely depressed with suicidal thoughts. On Wednesday he was moved to the Ramleh prison hospital in central Israel due to his deteriorating mental state. “Ahmad Manasra has been subjected to a catalogue of injustices by the Israeli authorities, including deleterious effects of incarceration on his development and prolonged solitary confinement. He endured ill-treatment during interrogations, which were conducted without his parents or lawyers’ presence, and was denied the right to a fair trial. He should have been released a long time ago, yet he remains in unnecessary suffering in Israeli prisons,” said Heba Morayef, Amnesty International’s Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa. “Pending his release from detention, he must be given access to adequate medical care and never be placed in solitary confinement again. Allegations of torture and other human rights violations that Ahmad has suffered must be effectively and transparently investigated.” K.F./M.K - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

Israeli tanks infiltrate southern Gaza borders, destroy farmlands, chase farmers and herders out
RAFAH, Wednesday, June 22, 2022 (WAFA) – Israeli tanks, military vehicles and bulldozers today infiltrated the southern Gaza borders east of Rafah, destroying farmlands and shooting tear gas at farmers and herders in the area, reported WAFA correspondent. The Israeli occupation forces destroy an access road to a Ramallah-area village
RAMALLAH, Wednesday, June 22, 2022 (WAFA) - The Israeli occupation forces today destroyed an access road to Ras Karkar village, northwest of Ramallah, hampering the movement of people, according to the head of Ras Karkar village council, Marwan Nofal. He said that the destroyed road had been partially paved for 20 years and that three months ago, following coordination with the Israeli military government, work on the rehabilitation of the road started. However, two days after the start of the work, the military forces raided the area and seized the vehicles used in the work, imposing a fine on their owners. Nofal said that despite continuous promises to allow the rehabilitation work, the army sent its bulldozers today to destroy the road under the pretext that the road is located on “state land”. The destruction of the road led to depriving farmers of access to their lands on the western side of the village, he said, and isolating several houses, noting that this is not the first time the Israeli military has targeted the village. Ras Karkar suffers from the presence of seven iron gates at its entrances that limit the movement of people and access to their homes and lands. At the same time, the Israeli military government does not allow it to carry out any work to improve the village’s infrastructure, said Nofal. M.K. - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

Israeli forces deliver demolition notices against six houses, two shops south of Hebron
HEBRON, Wednesday, June 15, 2022 (WAFA) – Israeli forces today evening delivered demolition notices against six houses and two shops to the south of Hebron, in the southern occupied West Bank, according to a local activist. Coordinator of the Protection and Steadfastness Committees in Masafer Yatta, Fouad al-Amour said forces stormed the village of Ar-Rafaiya to the east of the town of Yatta and handed Palestinian residents demolition notices against six inhabited houses, a commercial shop, and a carwash shop. The Israeli High Court on May 4 gave the army the green light to demolish 12 villages in Masafer Yatta and displace their residents after the army declared the area as a firing zone. Since then, the Israeli military has gradually demolished several homes and rooms in different villages to avoid being criticized if it carries out the demolitions at one time. Israeli forces detain 15 Palestinians in West Bank raids
RAMALLAH, Thursday, June 16, 2022 (WAFA) – Israeli forces today detained 15 Palestinians, mostly in overnight raids across the West Bank, according to local and security sources. They said that Israeli forces rounded up two Palestinians after breaking into and searching the houses of their families in Kafr Qaddum village, east of Tulkarm. Gun-toting Israeli soldiers barged their way into the eastern neighborhood of Tulkarm city, forcibly entered at least three houses, conducted a thorough search and detained three others, including two former prisoners. In Qalqiliya district, the soldiers detained another from Habla town, south of the northern West Bank city, and ransacked his family house, turning it upside down. In Jerusalem, Israeli police detained a Palestinian and ransacked several houses in Silwan neighborhood. They rounded up two minors from the Old City of Jerusalem. In the southern West Bank, the sources confirmed a raid in Aida refugee camp, north of Bethlehem, resulting in the detention of another. The soldiers showed up at a house in Bir al-Hummus area of Hebron, muscled inside and detained another. A military force stormed al-Juwaya community, located on the outskirts of Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, searched several dwellings and detained a local shepherd. The Good Shepherd Collective, a collective of individuals and organizations dedicated to nonviolent resistance, said that the arrest of the shepherd came as part of the wider campaign by Israeli forces, who regularly target shepherds, as they make use of large swathes of local Palestinian land and often come into confrontation with settlers engaged in active colonization efforts. It added that this arrest sends a threatening message to the communities of Masafer Yatta, eight of which face the existential threat of immediate, impending demolitions. Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for "wanted" Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents. These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers. Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised. According to the latest figures from Addameer, the Palestinian Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, there are currently 4,450 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli prisons and detention centers. This number includes approximately 530 Palestinians placed under “administrative detention”, that allows the detention of Palestinians without charge or trial for renewable intervals ranging between three and six months based on undisclosed evidence that even a detainee’s lawyer is barred from viewing. Mass arrest of Palestinians is nothing new. According to a 2017 report by Addameer, over the past 50 years, more than 800,000 Palestinians have been imprisoned or detained by Israel, this figure is now believed to be closer to 1 million. This means that about 40% of Palestinian men and boys living under military occupation have been deprived of their freedom. Almost every Palestinian family has suffered the imprisonment of a loved one. K.F. - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

Israeli forces seal entrance of Ramallah-district village for eighth consecutive day
RAMALLAH, Monday, June 13, 2022 (WAFA) – For the eighth consecutive day, Israeli forces Thursday sealed the main entrance of Aboud village, northeast of Ramallah, according to local sources. They said that Israeli soldiers stationed at the military watchtower at the village entrance shut the metal gate the army had set up at the entrance, banning the movement of vehicles in and out of the village and forcing the villagers to take long alternative routes to reach their homes or workplaces. Israeli severely restricts Palestinians’ freedom of movement through a complex combination of approximately 100 fixed checkpoints, flying checkpoints, settler-only roads and various other physical obstructions. Closures besides to other measures, taken under the guise of security, are intended to entrench Israel’s 55-year-old military occupation of the West Bank and its settler colonial project which it enforces with routine and frequently deadly violence against Palestinians. Aboud is one of the Palestinian villages, with a balanced Muslim and Christian population who live in harmony. The village is renowned for its many churches and monasteries, including the Orthodox Church dating back to the Byzantine era. K.F. - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

Israeli navy opened fire on Palestinian fishing boats sailing within three nautical miles offshore al-Sudaniya area to the northwest of Gaza city, shooting and injuring three fishermen. Palestinian prisoner Ahmad Manasra still in prison despite worsening mental health: Amnesty
LONDON, Friday, June 17, 2022 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities must immediately release Ahmad Manasra, a 20-year-old Palestinian man who has developed serious mental health problems since his arrest as a child seven years ago, Amnesty International said today. In 2015, the occupation authorities arrested Ahmad Manasra, who was then 13 years old, and harshly interrogated and threatened him without a lawyer present. He has been in prison ever since, and in solitary confinement since early November 2021. Ahmad has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, is suffering from psychotic delusions, and is severely depressed with suicidal thoughts. Allegations of torture and other human rights violations that Ahmad has suffered must be effectively and transparently investigated.” On 19 June 2022, Beersheba District Court will review Ahmad Manasra’s eligibility for early release under Israel’s Parole Law of 2001. Ahmad Manasra’s mental health has worsened during his incarceration. In October 2021 an independent Israeli clinical psychologist working with Physicians for Human Rights – Israel (PHRI) diagnosed him with severe psychiatric conditions, and stated these had developed since his incarceration. Ahmad Manasra’s parents said in February 2022 that their son had been diagnosed with schizophrenia, and that he is suffering from psychotic delusions, and is severely depressed with suicidal thoughts. His lawyer, Khaled Zabarqa, told Amnesty International: “We have asked the Israel Prison Service to release Ahmad into home and community care as a matter of urgency because there is a real danger to his life. The prison doctors themselves recognized as much in their report on 13 June which led to his transfer from the prison cell to the prison hospital.” M.N - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]
