Another Palestinian administrative detainee in Israel begins hunger strike, raising total to 18
RAMALLAH, Monday, August 2, 2021 (WAFA) – Another Palestinian administrative detainee in Israel is currently on hunger strike demanding his release from prison, bringing the total number of Palestinian detainees in Israel who are on hunger strike to 18, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS). It said in a statement that Ahmad Hamamreh, from Beit Sahour in the south of the West Bank, started his hunger strike three days ago in protest against his continuous administrative detention without charge or trial. It said Hamamreh was transferred to a prison in the Naqab desert in the south of Israel where most of the other 17 hunger strikers are held. Of the 18 currently on hunger strike, 17 are administrative detainees protesting their long incarceration without charge of trial and based on so-called secret evidence, while the 18th went on hunger strike to protest his solitary confinement. The PPS said Salim Zeidat, from Bani Naim village near Hebron has been on hunger strike for 22 days, the longest of the 18, followed by Mujahed Hamed, from Silwad, near Ramallah, and Mohammad Aamar, from Tulkarm, both on hunger strike for 20 days, four others from Dura, also near Hebron, including two siblings, for 19 days, one from Ramallah for 14 days, six from different places for 13 days, one for 12 days and one for five days. Some 40 Palestinian administrative detainees went on hunger strike since the start of the year to protest their detention, most have either won their freedom or had their imprisonment fixed to end at a specific date leading them to end their hunger strike. There are currently 540 Palestinians held in administrative detention in Israel. M.K. - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

As four Sheikh Jarrah families await critical High Court ruling, Israeli settler opens fire, injures Palestinian
RAMALLAH, Monday, August 2, 2021 (WAFA) – As four Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem today await a critical ruling from the Israeli High Court regarding their forced eviction from their homes, an Israeli settler opened fire and injured a Palestinian who was taking part in a solidarity event with the afflicted residents, according to local sources. They said a settler opened fire at the youth during a solidarity event with the Sheikh Jarrah residents lightly injuring him in the foot. Israeli police closed off the area following the incident. The four Palestinian families – Kurd, Skafi, Jaouni, and al-Qassem – have appealed to the High Court against their forced eviction from their homes for the benefit of Israeli settler organizations. Israeli occupation forces open fire at Palestinian fishermen, farmers in Gaza; no injuries reported
GAZA, Monday, August 2, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces today opened fire at Palestinian fishermen and farmers in the Gaza Strip, according to WAFA correspondent. He said that the Israeli navy targeted Palestinian fishermen and their fishing boats as they were sailing three nautical miles into al-Sudaniya area, northwest of the Gaza city, and opened water hoses at them, forcing them to return to shore. Meanwhile, Israeli forces opened fire at a group of farmers as they were working in their lands in al-Zaytouna neighborhood, southeast of Gaza city, and forced them to leave their lands. No injuries were reported, however. Despite the signed agreements between Palestinians and Israel, which allow fishermen to go 12 nautical miles inside the Mediterranean Sea, Israeli navy targets Gaza fishermen almost daily and does not allow them to go further than three nautical miles, which the fishermen say is not enough to catch fish. A large number of Gazans rely on fishing for daily living in light of the tight decade-old blockade imposed by Israel on the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army also regularly opens fire at Gaza farmers working on their lands bordering the fence between Gaza and southern Israel in order to keep them off that area. Palestinian prisoner completes 18 years behind Israeli bars
TULKAREM, Sunday, August 1, 2021 (WAFA) – A Palestinian prisoner from Tulkarem completed today 18 years behind Israeli bars for resisting the occupation, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS). Head of PPS, Ibrahim al-Nimer, told WAFA prisoner Sami Mahmoud Soboh, 47, was detained in 2003 after two years of being pursued by Israeli forces. In 2000, he was shot by Israeli forces, causing him critical injuries to his leg, and to date, he still suffers from the long-term effects of the injury. Soboh was held under interrogations for around 100 days after his arrest in 2003, before being sentenced to 28 years in jail, during which he was subjected to the Israeli prison service arbitrary punishment policies, including being deprived of family visits. According to the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission, Israel holds about 4850 Palestinians in its prisons, including 43 women and 225 children. Approximately 540 are held as administrative detainees. T.R. - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

Israeli settlers accelerate construction of housing units in unauthorized settlement south of Nablus
NABLUS, Sunday, August 1, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers have recently accelerated the construction of hundreds of housing units in the unauthorized settlement of Kida, build illegally on the village of Jaloud land, south of Nablus, said a local activist. Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors colonial settlement activities in the northern West Bank, told WAFA hundreds of housing units were built during the past weeks inside and outside the built-up area of the settlement, which was established in 2003. In 2016, the Israeli Supreme Court issued a decision prohibiting the expropriation of more Palestinian residents’ lands to expand the said settlement, however, settlers returned and bulldozed more land and built luxury homes there. "Settlements amount to the transfer of a State’s population to the territory it occupies, which is prohibited by international humanitarian law," said the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). To meet its international legal obligations, Israel must stop building settlements, reverse any settlement development activity and make full reparations, which include the obligation to re-establish the situation affected by the violation. The transfer of the occupying Power’s population to the territory it occupies amounts to a war crime that may lead to the individual criminal responsibility of the officials involved," said OHCHR. Israeli forces notify for demolition of two sheds in Bethlehem-area village
BETHLEHEM, Sunday, August 1, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities notified today for the demolition of two agricultural sheds in the village of al-Walaja, northwest of Bethlehem, in the southern occupied West Bank, according to local sources. Sources told WAFA Israeli forces delivered demolition notices against two agricultural sheds belonging to two local residents in Ein Jwaizah area to the northeast of al-Walaja village. The said village has been subjected to repeated Israeli violations by settlers and soldiers, including the demolition of homes and retaining walls, orders to stop construction and razing of land. Israel rarely issues construction permits to Palestinians, forcing many to build without permits. OCHA wrote in an official statement that, “The planning policies applied by Israel in Area C and East Jerusalem discriminate against Palestinians, making it extremely difficult for them to obtain building permits.” “As a result, many Palestinians build without permits to meet their housing needs and risk having their structures demolished. Palestinians must have the opportunity to participate in a fair and equitable planning system that ensures their needs are met,” it added. T.R. - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

14 African states agree to kick Israel out of African Union
ALGIERS, Sunday, August 1, 2021 (WAFA) – Algerian and international media outlets have reported that Algeria has officially begun forming an African block to reject Israel’s membership in the African Union. The online newspaper Rai Al-Youm reported that South Africa, Tunisia, Eritrea, Senegal, Tanzania, Niger, ‌ the archipelago of Qamar, Gabon, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Liberia, and the Seychelles have all agreed with the decision. Rai Al-Youm further wrote that Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra is expected to discuss the issue of Israel’s membership in the African Union in his upcoming trips to the four African countries of Tunisia, Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt. Lamamra has stressed that these diplomatic moves are in fact a reaction to Tel Aviv's membership in the African Union as an observer member and that this is a development that Israeli diplomats have been working on for years. Lamamra noted that Israel had previously gained membership as an observer in the Organization of African Unity, but in 2002, the title was taken back from the regime as the African Union replaced the Organization of African Unity. The Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a statement on July 22 that Adamsu Alali, Tel Aviv's ambassador to Addis Ababa, had submitted his credentials as an observer member of the African Union. Scores of Israeli settlers break into Al-Aqsa
JERUSALEM, Sunday, August 1, 2021 (WAFA) – Dozens of hardcore Israeli settlers, heavily guarded by Israeli police, broke into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Jerusalem today and performed rituals, according to witnesses. They said that the fanatic settlers entered the holy compound in groups since early morning and performed rituals and provocative tours through the Islamic holy site. Located in occupied Jerusalem, the Al-Aqsa Mosque is the third holiest site for Muslims. It was also Islam’s first Qibla, the direction towards which Muslims must turn to pray, before that was changed to Mecca, in Saudi Arabia. Settler incursions into the holy mosque compound coupled with the systematic takeover of church property in Jerusalem are perceived as part of a plan to transform a multi-religious and multi-cultural city into a "reunified" Jewish city under the exclusive control and sovereignty of the occupying state of Israel. Israel captured East Jerusalem, where Al-Aqsa Mosque is located, during the Six-Day War in 1967 in a move never recognized by the international community. M.N - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

16 Palestinian prisoners remain on hunger strike against unfair detention in Israel
RAMALLAH, Sunday, August 1, 2021 (WAFA) – A total of 16 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli detention currently remain on hunger strike in protest of their unfair administrative detention without a charge or trial, according to the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission. The Commission said some of the hunger-striking prisoners have been on hunger strike for 18 days, while others have been hunger striking for 17, 12, 11 or 10 days in a row. The longest hunger-striking of the 16 prisoners is prisoner Salem Ziadat, 40 years old, who has been on hunger strike for 20 days in protest of his detention without a charge or trial. Israel’s widely condemned policy of administrative detention allows the detention of Palestinians without charge or trial for renewable intervals usually ranging between three and six months based on undisclosed evidence that even a detainee’s lawyer is barred from viewing. Currently, Israel is holding some 540 Palestinians in administrative detention, deemed illegal by international law, most of them former prisoners who spent years in prison for their resistance of the Israeli occupation. Over the years, Israel has placed thousands of Palestinians in administrative detention for prolonged periods of time, without trying them, without informing them of the charges against them, and without allowing them or their counsel to examine the evidence. Palestinian detainees have continuously resorted to open-ended hunger strikes as a way to protest their illegal administrative detention and to demand an end to this policy which violates international law. Palestinian youth killed in a shooting attack in the Galilee
NAZARETH, Saturday, June 26, 2021 (WAFA) – A 30-year-old Palestinian man was killed last night in a shooting in the village of Yarka, in the Galilee region in the north of 1948-occupied Palestine, according to witnesses. Arab 48 website said Sarhan Atallah, 30, was killed in the shooting while two others were reportedly stabbed and critically wounded in a related act of violence in the village. Over 56 Palestinian nationals of Israel have been killed since the beginning of the year in an ongoing crime wave, blamed for Israeli Police tolerance of criminality and suspected collaboration with criminal gangs. Palestinians in today's Israel are those who stayed on their land following the creation of the occupying state in 1948 and their descendants. They make up about 20 percent of the country's nine million people. By law, their rights are equal to those of Jewish citizens. But in practice they suffer discrimination in employment, housing, policing and other essentials. Palestinians have long blamed the Israeli police for turning a blind eye to gun violence among Arab Israelis and even complicity with criminal gangs. M.N - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

Israeli police attack Palestinians protesting against forcible expulsion of families in Sheikh Jarrah
JERUSALEM, Saturday, July 31, 2021 (WAFA) - Israeli police attacked today Palestinians taking part in a peaceful sit-in protest in Jerusalem's Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, held against the Israeli occupation attempts to forcibly expel hundreds of Palestinians from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah in favor of Israeli settlers. Protester chanted slogans condemning the Israeli occupation measures and forced expulsion of Palestinians from their homes in Sheiklh jarrah and Silwan neighborhood. Israeli police attacked protesters with stun grenades and sprayed them with skunk. No injuries were reported. These families are Palestine refugees, who lost both their original homes and means of livelihood as a result of the 1948 conflict. In 1956, these refugee families moved into Sheikh Jarrah with the support of the Jordanian government and material assistance from UNRWA following their displacement. They have resided in these homes for nearly seventy years. They are now at risk of being displaced for the second time in living memory. T.R. - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

Occupation forces attack protesters in Tubas, injuries reported
TUBAS, Saturday, July 31, 2021 (WAFA) – A Palestinian protester was injured by a rubber-coated steel rounds and others sustained suffocation from teargas today, as Israeli occupation forces attacked an anti-colonization protest near the town of Tayasir in the occupied West Bank district of Tubas. The protest, called for by the Palestinian Authority’s Colonization Resistance Commission, saw protesters demonstrating at an Israeli military checkpoint east of the town and chanting slogans against Israel’s colonial settlement enterprise and plans to annex the Jordan Valley to Israeli sovereignty. Attacks by colonial Israeli settlers against Palestinian civilians in the area witnessed a spike in recent weeks, with Israeli settlers erecting a new colonial outpost near the checkpoint where the protest took place today. The protesters and organizers of the protest confirmed that their struggle will continue until Israel removes the new outpost, set up last week. Israeli settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian Territories are illegal in international law, particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention which prohibits the relocation of the people of the occupying country to the land of the occupied state. Israeli forces install metal gate east of Bethlehem area
BETHLEHEM, Saturday, July 31, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces installed today a metal gate at the entrance leading to Jabal Al-Fardis area, east of the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, said a local activist. Hasan Brijiyeh, a local anti-settlement and anti-wall activist, told WAFA correspondent the installation of the metal gate will prevent residents’ access to their lands, at a time when the Israeli authorities have escalated their settlement activities in the area. Forces also installed a communication tower in the area. Restricting movement is one of the main tools that Israel employs to enforce its regime of occupation over the Palestinian population in the Occupied Territories. Israel restricts the movement of Palestinians within the Occupied Territories, between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, into Israel, and abroad. Only Palestinians are restricted in this manner, while settlers and other civilians – Israeli and foreign – are free to travel, said the Israeli information center for human rights in the occupied territories, B'Tselem. Israeli restrictions on Palestinians’ movement impose a life of constant uncertainty, making it difficult to perform everyday tasks or make plans, and frustrates the development of a stable economy, said B'Tselem. Efforts intensifying to force Israel to release corpses of Palestinians withheld for years
RAMALLAH, Saturday, July 31, 2021 (WAFA) – Efforts are intensifying to force Israel to release corpses of Palestinians killed by its forces over the years and which it has been holding in morgues or unmarked graves, today said Salwa Hammad, coordinator of the National Campaign to the Retrieval of the Bodies of Martyrs held by Israel since 2015. She told Voice of Palestine radio that there are 81 bodies held in morgues, in addition to 254 others of Palestinians killed since 1967 held in unmarked graves in what is known as “numbered” cemeteries in the north of Israel. Efforts are underway to mobilize the international community to help release the withheld bodies in light of the failure of the legal process to release them, said Hammad, explaining that there will be more action on the international level this year as well as events and media campaigns, particularly on the National Day for the Retrieval of the Bodies of Martyrs, which falls on August 27. Israel said that it was withholding bodies of Palestinians in order to use them as a bargaining chip in future prisoners’ exchange deals with the Palestinians. The families of the withheld bodies hold regular protests demanding their release in order to give them proper burial in their hometowns. M.K. - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

BETHLEHEM, Saturday, July 31, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers destroyed 140 olive saplings in al-Khader town, south of the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem, today said local activist Ahmad Salah. He told WAFA that settlers from the two illegal settlements of Daniel and Elazar sprayed the saplings with pesticides destroying them as a result. The settlers, he said, took over Palestinian-owned land in the town and planted it with olive trees and other fruits, and they also opened a 100-meter-long, 2-meter-wide road for their use that went through Palestinian-owned land. Occupation forces attack weekly Kafr Qaddum protest
QALQILIA, Friday, July 30, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces today attacked dozens of Palestinian protesters while demonstrating in the village of Kafr Qaddum, near the city of Qalqilia in the occupied West Bank, against the Israeli colonial settlement construction and expansion. Morad Shtewi, coordinator of the popular resistance in the village, said Israeli soldiers fired rubber-coated rounds and teargas at the protesters, causing many cases of suffocation from gas inhalation. All of the wounded were treated at the scene by local medics. For years, the village of Kafr Qaddum has been at the heart of a national campaign protesting against the Israeli colonial settlement activities in the occupied West Bank. Almost every day, clashes erupt between Palestinian protesters and Israeli occupation forces in the village. M.N - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

Occupation forces crackdown on anti-settlement rally east of Nablus
NABLUS, Friday, July 30, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli forces today cracked down on an anti-settlement rally in Beit Dajan village, east of Nablus city, injuring dozens of participants, according to medical sources. Ahmad Jibril, the head of the Emergency and Ambulance Department at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), said that PRCS medics treated 10 participants for rubber-coated bullet injuries and dozens others for tear gas suffocation after Israeli forces forcefully dispersed the rally. The rally was called for to defend Palestinian-owned land threatened with confiscation, east of the village, to make room for Israeli colonial settlement construction. Settlers installed an animal barn, extended water pipelines to supply the new outpost with water, and built a several-kilometers road, causing damage and seizing hundreds of donums of the villagers’ land. Located 12 kilometers to the east of Nablus city, Beit Dajan has a population of some 4,700 and occupies a total area of 44,100 dunams, including 360 donums of built-up area for the villagers. A large part of the village lands were seized for the construction of Al-Hamra and Mekhora (Mehola) colonial settlements, east and southeast of the village, in 1971 and 1973. The village depends on grains plantation and fruitful trees, such as olive, figs and almonds. K.F. - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

Live ammunition injuries reported as Israeli forces quell protest south of Nablus
NABLUS, Friday, July 30, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli forces today quelled an anti-land-pillage protest in Beita town, south of Nablus, causing injuries, according to medical sources. Ahmad Jibril, the head of the Emergency and Ambulance Department at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), said that Israeli forces opened fire on the participants in the rally to disperse them, injuring two by live rounds in their feet and causing 35 others to suffocate from tear gas. The residents of Beita and the surrounding villages have been holding weekly Friday rallies to protest the construction of the new colonial settlement of Givat Eviatar atop Jabal Sbeih (Sbeih Mount) as well as the seizure of lands belonging to the villagers of Beita, Huwarra, and Za‘tara to inaugurate a new settler-only bypass road. Israeli forces have used fatal violence to disperse the rallies, killing six Palestinians from the town and injuring over 600 others in almost a month. In addition to Mount Sabih, Israeli forces have erected another colonial settlement outpost atop Mount Al-Arma, north of Beita, a few months ago, as both mounts enjoy a strategic location as they overlook the Jordan Valley, a fertile strip of land running west along the Jordan River which makes up approximately 30% of the West Bank. Seizing the two hilltops represents a panoptical defensive tool as they would grant the Israeli occupation with a panoramic view over the Jordan Valley and the whole district of Nablus. This is why the Israeli occupation authorities have assigned them a place in its settlement expansion project. The construction of the two colonial outposts atop Mount Sabih, south of Beita, and Mount Al-Arma, north of the town, besides to a bypass road to the west is an Israeli measure to push Palestinian villages and towns into crowded enclaves, ghettos, surrounded by walls, settlements and military installations, and disrupt their geographic contiguity with other parts of the West Bank. The number of settlers living in Jewish-only colonial settlements across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law has jumped to over 700,000 and colonial settlement expansion has tripled since the signing of Oslo Accords in 1993. Israel’s nation-state law, passed in July 2018, enshrines Jewish supremacy, and states that building and strengthening the colonial settlements is a “national interest.” K.F. - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

Four minors among eight Palestinians detained from West Bank
JERUSALEM, Friday, July 30, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Friday overnight and Thursday night detained eight Palestinians from various parts of the West Bank, according to local and security sources. Israeli police rounded up four children from the Sultan Ibrahim Street in the East Jerusalem, as confirmed by the Wadi Hilweh Information Center. In Bethlehem district, Israeli soldiers re-arrested a former prisoner after breaking into his house in al-Khader town, south of the city. They also arrested another Palestinian after ransacking his family house in Beit Jala city, west of Bethlehem. In Hebron district, the sources confirmed a military raid in Dura town, southwest of the city, resulting in the detention of two others. Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for "wanted" Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents. These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers. Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised. K.F. - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

Save the Children condemns violence against children after three deaths in one week
RAMALLAH, Friday, July 30, 2021 (WAFA) - Save the Children Thursday condemned the excessive use of force by Israeli forces against children in the occupied Palestinian territory, which has resulted in the deaths of three children across the West Bank in the past week. Save the Children added in a press statement that on Wednesday, a 12-year-old boy was killed in Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, after Israeli forces shot him in the chest while he sat in a car with his sister and father. Another boy,17, was also reportedly shot in the back over the weekend in northwest Ramallah. He died in hospital after four hours of surgery. Earlier this week, a third teenager died from gunshot wounds he sustained in the neck more than eight weeks ago. “Three children shot in the chest, neck and back: this is totally unacceptable that any life should be cut short so young. The loss of these children will leave lasting emotional scars on their family and friends. Children have special protection under international law and must be protected from violence at all times,” Jason Lee, Country Director for Save the Children in the occupied Palestinian territory, said. He called upon Israeli forces to respect children’s rights and Israel to open an investigation into all instances involving the use of force against children. “Israeli security forces must fully respect, protect and fulfil the rights of all children and act in accordance with international law. Israel should promptly, transparently and independently investigate all instances of use of force against children,” he added. K.F. - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

Israeli settlers use chainsaw to cut electric poles south of Nablus
NABLUS, Friday, July 30, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers today cut wooden electric poles using chainsaws in Burin town, south of Nablus city, according to a local activist. Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors colonial settlement activities in the northern West Bank, confirmed that a group of settlers used chainsaws to chop down six wooden electric poles supplying electricity to a house located on the outskirts of the town, causing power blackout in the area. The targeted house is separated from the town by the nearby settler-only bypass road, which runs to the illegal colonial settlement of Yitzhar, inhabited by hardcore fanatic Jews. Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities. Settlers' violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, among others. There are over 700,000 Israeli settlers living in colonial Jewish-only settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. K.F. - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

Israeli quell protest against land pillage south of Nablus, injuries reported
NABLUS, Friday, July 30, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Thursday night quelled a rally against land pillage in Beita town, south of Nablus, causing injuries, according to medical sources. Ahmad Jibril, the head of the Emergency and Ambulance Department at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), said that Israeli forces opened fire towards the villagers who protested the pillage of their land to construct a new colonial settlement atop Jabal Sbeih (Sbeih Mountain) near the town. He added that PRCS medics provided treatment to 10 protestors hit with rubber-coated steel bullets, dozens of tear gas suffocation cases in addition to four others who sustained injuries due to falling from high places after being chased by the soldiers. Two of the casualties were rushed to a hospital for treatment. The residents of Beita and the surrounding villages have been holding weekly Friday rallies to protest the construction of the new colonial settlement of Givat Eviatar atop Jabal Sabih as well as the seizure of lands belonging to the villagers of Beita, Huwarra, and Za‘tara to inaugurate a new settler-only bypass road. A Banking Source Warns Of Flooding The Occupied Areas Markets With Counterfeit Currency
A banking source at the Central Bank of Yemen, Sana’a’s main center, warned of the mercenary government’s efforts to flood markets in the occupied areas in counterfeit currency, and the consequent rise in inflation and prices of goods and services in those areas. “The statement issued by the so-called Central Bank of Aden contains contradictions that confirm its violation of the most basic economic rules and the alphabet of monetary policy,” the source said in a statement. He pointed out that the statement in question claimed to approve the adoption of treatment of the price distortions of the national currency by continuing to pump more printed currency, which indicates the state of confusion and loss of control reached by the government of mercenaries, and the management of the so-called Central Bank of Aden, as a result of personal ambitions and objectives of the aggression coalition in harming the Yemeni people, which directly reflected on exchange rates in the occupied provinces, and the significant collapse in the value of the local currency in it, to reach more than (1000) riyals to the dollar One so far. The source stressed that the decisions of the so-called Central Bank of Aden will cause-certainly catastrophically – further collapse in currency prices in the occupied areas, regardless of the type of printed currency to be pumped, as its circulation is prohibited in the areas of the administration of the Government of National Rescue, thus further rise in inflation rates and prices of goods and living in the occupied areas as a result of successive currency printing operations in huge quantities over four years, resulting in a very large surplus in the local currency supply accumulated in the occupied territories, and in a way that the so-called Central Bank of Aden could no longer control. The source added, “What is included in the statement of the so-called Central Bank of Aden is mere pretexts that the mercenary government is trying to fabricate to justify its continuation of the printing of counterfeit and illegal currency papers, and pumping them into the occupied areas for the purpose of using them to buy foreign currency and smuggle it into the accounts of mercenary leaders abroad, in exchange for the erosion and decrease of the real value of the money and savings of citizens in the occupied areas, and in order to achieve the objectives of the states of aggression in order to try to cause damage and deterioration of the exchange rate in the areas of the Government of National Rescue, which does not It can only be achieved by destroying the economy of the occupied territories first, as the infusion of printed currencies, increased money supply and inflation rates begin. The source also confirmed that the central bank, the main center of Sana’a, has already warned of the results of these actions and decisions from the countries of aggression against Yemen and its mercenaries, through the so-called Central Bank of Aden. The source called on citizens to abide by the package of procedures issued on 22 June 2021 and on 27 June 2021 on the non-dealing, possession, or transfer of counterfeit currency of the category (1000) Riyals, whose serial number begins without the letter (A) and the blogger on it in 1438 H- 2017, and that the maximum allowed the transfer of the Yemeni legal currency from the occupied areas to the areas of the Government of National Rescue is only 100,000 riyals per person, and it is recommended that it not be in the category (1000) riyals to avoid any delay in checkpoints and allows the transfer of any amounts of foreign currency. - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

@alnujaba - [Ref]

@alnujaba - [Ref]

64 Recorded Violations By The Aggression In Hodeidah
Quting from al-masirah, The Liaison and Coordination Officers’ Operations Room, which monitors violations of the Stockholm Agreement and Ceasefire in Hodeidah, reported 164 violations staged by US-Saudi forces and mercenaries during the past 24 hours. The source pointed out that the violations included the flying of 17 spy drones and a war plane over various districts. They staged 31 attacks with artillery shelling, and 115 attacks with live bullets. On a daily basis, the Saudi-led aggression violates the UN-backed agreement, reached between the warring sides during a round of UN-sponsored peace negotiations in Sweden in December 2018. The agreement committed the parties to an immediate ceasefire in the city of Hodeidah and the ports of Hodeidah, Salif and Ras Issa, redeployment of forces, securing the ports, the establishment of the joint Redeployment Coordination Committee chaired by the United Nations, and the use of the revenues of the ports to support civil service salary payments. The continuous violations by the forces of aggression in Hodeidah come in light of an international silence identifying the aggression and its crimes against the Yemeni people. - [Ref] - [Visit This Page]

Sabbagh: Israeli repeated aggressions on Syrian territories flagrant violation of UN Charter
New York, SANA- Syria’s permanent representative to the UN, Bassam Sabbagh, affirmed that the State terrorism and the Israeli repeated aggressions on Syrian territories represent a flagrant violation of UN charter, rules of the international law and Security council resolutions which call for respecting Syria sovereignty and territorial integrity. Sabbagh, in a statement submitted to the UN Security Council session on Wednesday on “The situation in the Middle East” , said that the series of Israeli repeated aggressions against Syria ,most recent of which was on Thursday , consolidate the policies of the occupation entity based on practicing “the State Terrorism” and providing the continuous support to the terrorist groups in Syria in another blatant violation of the international resolutions concerned with combating terrorism ,referring that Syria notified the Security Council and UN General Secretary about the details of these aggressions and the dangerous threat they pose to the security and stability of the region. He added that the Israeli occupation authorities continue attempts of consolidating its occupation of Syrian Golan in an unprecedented challenge to the international will and the relevant resolutions of the UN and Security Council ,in particular 242 ,338 and 497, through escalating the settlement on remains of the Syrian villages and territories destroyed by this occupation , seizing lands of Golan’s citizens and establishing settlement schemes such as starting to set up huge wind turbines on an area equal to one fifth of the agricultural farmlands remaining to citizens of Golan. Syria’s representative renewed Syria’s call on the international community to put pressure on Israel immediately and without any delay as it is the occupying force ,opening and operating Quneitra crossing that links Syrian people in occupied Golan with their country , reiterating Syria’s condemnation, with the strongest terms, the latest US proclamations in relation to Occupied Syrian Golan which affirm that the US policy against it comes from the Israeli perspective and serves its expansionist aggressive policies in the area . He stressed that such proclamations are null and have no legal effect and that the occupied Golan will absolutely be restored to the homeland with all means guaranteed by the international law. Sabbagh voiced Syria’s regret about the continued ignorance in the resolutions of the General Secretary regarding the dangerous reality and the systematic Israeli violations against our people in Golan. The Syrian diplomat reiterated Syria’s adherence to the Palestinian people’s cause which can’t be separated from its adherence towards the Syrians in Occupied Golan, and that it supports their right in self-determination, establishing a sovereign state on its whole territory with Jerusalem as its capital in addition to ensuring the right of refugees to return according to UN resolution No.194 for the year 1948. Syria strongly condemns Turkish regime’s interference in Tunisian affairs
Damascus, SANA- Syria strongly condemned on Wednesday the Turkish regime’s interference in Tunisia’s domestic affairs, stressing that the Turkish policy can only support the extremist Brotherhood approach which seeks to destroy countries, fragment their national unity, and impose its abnormal agendas and policies on other countries and peoples. “While the Syrian Arab Republic affirms its respect for the sovereignty and independence of states and non-interference in their affairs, it has followed the blatant Turkish interference in the affairs of Tunisia, and it strongly condemns these acts,” An official source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement to SANA. The source added that while Syria stresses the right of peoples to self-determination, it underlines its full respect for the measures recently taken by Tunisia within the framework of the constitution and it is certain that the legitimate state in Tunisia and the Tunisian people are able to go ahead towards a future decided by the Tunisians themselves without any intervention by any rogue terrorist regimes.
